Stay up-to-date on the latest news and happenings at German American.

As a part of their continued commitment to supporting local schools and workforce development, German American has announced they will be sponsoring a financial literacy program for Barren County Schools.  The goal is to equip high school students with money management and career skills through their Money Smart financial education curriculum.  In addition to the physical curriculum materials for all freshmen students, the sponsorship also includes a monetary donation and resources for teachers to lead the classes digitally should that need arise.

“We are excited to partner with our local school systems.  A strong financial literacy curriculum ensures that students have the knowledge and resources that they need to succeed financially which is beneficial for their future, and for the future of our communities.  We are able to provide both the curriculum and a monetary donation to meet needs beyond that.” states Karisa Peterson, German American Market Executive serving Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

German American’s Money Smart Curriculum is a comprehensive set of modules that cover financial education topics for students of all ages. Topics for high school students include identifying career options and sources of income, financial planning, building savings, credit, responsibilities of renting vs. owning, and protecting yourself from identity fraud.
